Review by: Madeline Hobbs

Ragdoll is a book I will never tire of it seems. I’ve listened to the audiobook 4x and read a physical copy twice. The atmosphere, characters, and unique premise of this psychological, nail-biting story is unmatched. Oh, and it’s utterly perfect for heading into the autumn months.

Let’s see if it’s for you, shall we?

Synopsis: A macabre creation—the “Ragdoll,” a single body stitched together from six different victims—is found hanging in a London flat. The press explodes, the city panics, and Detective William “Wolf” Fawkes is dragged back into the spotlight when the killer taunts him with a chilling hit list of future victims—ending with Wolf himself. Every second counts in this deadly game of cat and mouse, but the Ragdoll Killer is always a move ahead. Twisted, shocking, and impossible to put down, this is a thriller that will haunt you long after the last page.

TW: Themes of violence, divorce, murder, and psychological torture are present.

My Thoughts: This is the first book I’ve given five stars in a while, but there isn’t another story that deserves it more. I’ve only ever heard one other person on the internet talk about this book, and that is actually a travesty. This book is criminally underrated considering the rich descriptions, the absolutely insane premise of how this story starts, and such amazing characters with intricate backstories and relationships with one another.

If you enjoy the first one as much as I did, Ragdoll is actually the first installment in a series of three. The audiobook narrated by Alex Wyndham is one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. If you enjoy listening to your books, you can’t go wrong here.
